Hi, I’m Nethra.
I coach for congruence. I help people create lives aligned with their values. My clients learn to write their own scripts, building lives that express who they are. I support them in finding work they love, navigating life transitions, and shifting emotional patterns that have held them back.
My work has shown me that self-actualization is a process of tending to our unrealized aspirations, as a gardener would tend to a sapling. I guide my clients toward a deeper sense of rootedness within themselves. We explore what nutrients they need to thrive, what environments facilitate their expansion, what conditions of possibility support them in generating unique and vibrant blooms.
I work with entrepreneurs, artists, engineers, startup co-founders, academics, writers, and executives who want to chart their own path. I support them in deepening self-awareness, communicating their needs and boundaries, and building lives that reflect their potential.
I also provide consulting for organizations, supporting teams in transforming communication from conflict to collaboration. My approach blends ethnography, design thinking, and Nonviolent Communication—a practice of empathetic listening and conflict mediation.
My Vision for Work
I work for joy. I write to reflect on the mysteries of our collective human condition that I witness as I accompany people through their lives.
I live by the water in a town called Sausalito, where the fog rolls over the bay and houseboats hug the docks like barnacles in technicolor, politely declining conformity.
I think about what it means to risk becoming ourselves. I spend my days supporting people to craft lives that express who they are. I help them build careers and relationships that are distinct, unique, and undeniably them. This involves bricolage and iteration, of building through trial and error. My own life has been a process of crafting.
My Background
I have a PhD in Anthropology from Stanford University. I have taught ethnography and listening skills at the Stanford d.School and the Department of Anthropology. My organizational tranings have supported employees in fintech companies, public libraries, non-profits, and universities to deepen their skills in listening and collaboration.
My Approach
“I’m someone who has always been interested in listening for what’s underneath the surface of things. That is the foundation of everything I’ve done so far… I really do think that when judgment is suspended and people have the space to explore and experiment, new ideas can come up when people are not triggered, when there is no punishment or harsh criticism, then our minds can go to places where they may not have gone before.…”
